I’m Penny Simmons, a Cleveland-based spoken word poet and multi-genre published author. I write poetry, fiction, and books for young readers. My work includes The Whispers of Pain and I Am Loved: Positive Affirmations for Brown Girls.
Making books taught me how much happens after the last sentence: covers and interiors, printer proofs, author bios, launch graphics, bookstore conversations, and the moment you stand at a table and ask someone to take your story home. My books have been available for sale in multiple local bookstores, and I’ve vended at author and literary events across Ohio.
Branding Your Artistry grew from that work. I help creators shape the pieces people see, hold, and return to. Penned Down gives authors a path from manuscript to a finished book and its first introduction to readers.
